Many and probably most who believe that Jesus/Yeshua is the Son of God also believe that 'God' is a triune being..a Trinity composed of 3 individual personalities..

John chapter 17 clearly shows that this is not true..that the Godhead is composed of Father and Son who are connected by the spirit of the Father! This connection makes them 'one'..('echad' in the Hebrew language)

In turn Jesus/Yeshua channels that same spirit to those who believe that he is the Son out of the Father and this, in turn, makes these believers 'one'/ 'echad' with them

In other words the spirit of the Father unites both Son and true Believers to Himself.
