'Memorial' (society)..founded in Russia; Human Rights Organisation; Nobel Peace Prize

I was rather amazed to hear that, in spite of the ongoing war in Ukraine, a Russian founded society/ human rights organisation had been one of the recipients of the Nobel Peace Prize for 2022.

That said, it seems as if the Russian branch was officially closed although, apparently, some part of it still functions.

My hope is that this dreadful war will soon end because, in past years, I met 3 Russian people who I really liked and will never forget. Two of them I nursed at the Walvis Bay State Hospital in Namibia in 1970  (or South West Africa as it was then called) during the time of the Soviet Union.

It's a great pity that Pope Francis and Patriarch Kyrill, in spite of being heads of the Roman Catholic church and Russian Orthodoxy, are seemingly powerless to stop the killing of, especially, innocent children who are caught up in the power struggle!

Perhaps if we all put our prayers together and ask God for a miracle, He'll  hear them and act accordingly because, for Him, nothing is impossible. HalleluYah ♡
